Dev-Log week #7: Post #2

Hello my name is Dylan and this week I would like to go over the animation work and sound design of the game's sub-boss; the Chimera.

Animations

The animations were an interesting challenge as based on the given anatomy, the majority of the movement was going to be in the long tail/neck, with the shorter one being more rigid, the flippers only really being able to flap up and down, and the body being completely rigid. I was able to make six animations for the creature; an idle animation where it looks to be floating in midair, a chasing animation where it would 'swim' faster towards the player, attack animations for both heads, a flinching animation for when it is hit, and a death animation.

Below is a demonstration of the attack animation for the head on the short 'neck':

Sound Effect

Below is the wavelength for the firing sound effect I made. I created it in Audacity and I was going for a whale noise with a sort of ominous growl. I used modified chirps, white noise, and low growls done by myself to achieve the effect.
