Devlog: Week 8


Hey there, Shelby again! This week was a lot of wrap-up as we prepared for the presentation. My main goal was to create models where I needed to, but mostly to contend with our lack of UI and, in that process, also create two instruction pages to use at the table during the presentation. 

Weekly Tasks:

At the start of this project, Jerry created the game from the ground up with both keyboard and controllers in mind. This made it very easy to test, as we always had the keys mapped out; all I did was put them down. The following are the final images for the game, both keyboard and controller:

UI Design:

At this point, the UI was still bare-bones. My first project was working on a health bar and stamina bar for our player. My first draft was rather boring, and I am very glad we decided against it:



I then thought of using objects in our health bar rather than words, which could be misinterpreted by those who don't often play video games. My result was a crystal with two bars coming off it, showing the health and stamina.
